The 'Taking Sides' series painted in 2022 explores the uneasy coexistence of Aotearoa’s native wildlife and introduced species. Each work pairs a New Zealand bird with a non-native plant, creating visual tensions that reflect ecological realities. Some birds thrive alongside human intervention, while others survive only on predator-free islands or, like the huia, exist now only in memory. By setting these encounters in familiar, often domestic landscapes, the series invites reflection on history, habitat loss, and our role in shaping the natural world’s future.Commissions available via enquiry.

Songs of the Forest 2023
The 'Songs of the Forest' series completed in 2023 celebrates the beauty and fragility of Aotearoa’s native birds and flowers, weaving them together in artworks that honour their place in our landscape. Each piece is a reminder of how precious these taonga are, and a gentle call to protect and conserve them for generations to come.
Songs of the Forest series are painted in Gouache, A4 Size framed in 12" x 16" white wood.

Each artwork from the popular in the 'Songs of the Forest' series is available as a limited edition print, with only 30x of each piece produced.
Prints are created to order, with a one-week turnaround time to allow for custom preparation and quality finishing. Please let me know if you would like framed or unframed. All frames are NZ made with acid free foam-board backing board and set up with picture hanging string.
Prints are printed in NZ with Print Art based in Auckland, printed on Ilford Smooth Pearl - 310gsm Photo Luster paper for the highest quality reproduction.
